The Derbyshire-based specialist, operating from its £3 million Advanced Innovation Centre, achieved a 17 per cent increase in sales over the past 12 months, taking its revenue to £22.3 million.

The growth reflects rising demand for automation and a surge in defence-related investment, with customers across the supply chain seeking solutions to optimise processes and manufacture complex components.

Run by brothers Chris and Matt Fulton, Carfulan Group supports over 500 clients with a portfolio that spans multi-sensor measurement systems through OGP UK, 3D printing via SYS Systems, turned part measurement from VICIVISION UK and optical measurement solutions from Metrios UK. The company also represents ZOLLER UK, a specialist range of tool presetting, inspection and storage products, which recorded the biggest increase in sales: up 81 per cent year-on-year.

To meet growing demand, Carfulan has expanded its workforce, creating eight new roles and bringing its team to 59 employees.

In a statement, Chris Fulton, the firm's Managing Director, said: “There is a renewed appetite to invest in advanced manufacturing to help combat rising costs, optimise processes and to manufacture complex components.

“It’s not just the big OEMs either. We’re seeing an increase in interest from all parts of the supply chain and from several new adopters. This is really exciting, as our technical experts can get under the skin of the business in a bid to deliver lots of added value, cost savings and efficiencies.”

Fulton added that growth has been broad-based across the product portfolio, supported by several new introductions including OGP UK’s M-Series, heralding a new era of multi-sensor metrology systems; a confocal laser added to VICIVISION techno systems; and the Metrios 332, the first larger platform for shopfloor metrology.

“3D printing remains a strong market for us,” he continued. “SYS Systems is gaining significant traction in the dental sector through Stratasys’ J5 DentaJet™ printer and the patented TrueDent™ CE-marked resin. This combination is proving a gamechanger for the profession and patients alike.”

Founded in 1991 by Andrew and Angela Fulton, the company has evolved into a critical partner for manufacturers, helping them design freely, manufacture efficiently and measure accurately. Its Innovation Centre serves as a showcase for advanced metrology and 3D printing systems, offering tailored demonstrations, training and aftercare support.

To reinforce its customer-first strategy, Carfulan recently appointed John Taylor as Customer Success Director. Taylor, who spent 18 years at American Express, will focus on enhancing client experience and building long-term relationships.

“Our attention to detail and level of client service is what really sets us apart,” Fulton said. “Attracting John to our business is a big coup and highlights the importance we place on building long-term client relationships. They’re the bedrock of our culture and will continue to be as we move into our 35th year of business.”

Looking ahead, Carfulan is preparing for a landmark appearance at MACH 2026, the UK’s largest manufacturing show, as it continues to invest in innovation and growth.
