Established in 1994, the IChemE Awards, hosted by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), celebrate achievements in areas ranging from biopharmaceuticals and sustainability to renewable energy and nuclear technology. This year’s programme attracted entries from over 100 companies across 23 countries, underscoring its global reach.
Adi Group has previously been honoured by the awards, and now finds itself shortlisted for the 2025 Industry Project Award. The nomination follows the company’s successful design, development and construction of a fully automated mashed potato production line for a client, delivered entirely in-house.
The winners will be announced at the IChemE global awards ceremony in Manchester on November 20, 2025. In addition to its finalist status, adi Group is also sponsoring the Training & Development Award, which recognises organisations committed to nurturing future engineering talent.
James Sopwith, Group Strategic Account Director at adi Group, said the recognition reflects the company’s depth of expertise and commitment to innovation: “Everyone at adi Group is immensely proud to have once again made the IChemE finals, this time for the Industry Project Award recognising our development and construction of a fully automated mashed potato line.
“This achievement showcases the depth of engineering talent across our business and our ability to deliver end-to-end solutions for clients. We’re equally proud to be sponsors of this year’s Training & Development Award, which celebrates the very best in nurturing future engineering capability.
“That sponsorship mirrors our long-standing commitment to developing young people and trainee engineers, creating clear pathways into meaningful, hands-on careers. Together, these recognitions reflect the culture of continuous improvement that drives adi Group forward.”
Entries for the IChemE Awards are assessed by a volunteer judging panel appointed on multi-year terms, with criteria focused on societal benefit, sustainability and environmental impact alongside engineering and professional excellence.
Adi Group provides multidisciplinary engineering services to UK manufacturers, offering concept design, systems integration, installation and ongoing maintenance across production environments.
